「夏至」巧遇「火之環」

 

Right when summer solstice meets solar eclipse

今(109)年6月21日，夏至(summer solstice)，將遇上天文奇觀日環食(蝕)(annular solar eclipse)，以「火之環」著稱。

此次在中南部可看到日環食，錯過了，要再等195年 – 2215年6月28日。上一次日環食是在2012年5月21日。

那，下次當夏至又遇上日食是何時呢? 是在2039年6月21日(上次是在1982年)。

6月21日下午2時44分起，從金門到台東，全台各地將陸續出現日食，其中金門、澎湖、雲林、嘉義、台南、高雄、花蓮與台東部分地區(看圖即可知為何是這些地區)，更可看見壯觀罕見的日環食，其他地區(如圖台北)則可見食分甚大的日偏食。

嘉義得天獨厚，有最好的觀測點。嘉義為此，特別舉辦日環食系列活動，市長黃敏惠更專程北上，與台北市長柯文哲在台北天文館揭開此發生在北回歸線上的盛事。

台北市天文館在6月21日當天有日食觀測與教育活動，甚至與中華郵政合作發行日食紀念郵票，亦可到天文館網站，觀賞線上直播。

天文館表示，日食每年最多發生5次，最少有2次，每百年平均發生236.7；同一地區平均發生236.7次；同一地區平均每３年可見一次日偏食，每300多年僅可見到一次日全食，下一次要等到2070年4月11日，才能看到日全食，但僅限恆春以南。

而前一次台灣可見的日食，是2019年12月26日的日偏食，下一次日偏食將於2023年4月20日登場，但台灣僅能見到食分約0.15的日偏食。

An annular solar eclipse is a rare phenomena when the Sun, Moon and Earth align. The total annular solar eclipse takes place when the moon is too far away in its orbit of the Earth.

日環食為當太陽、月亮、地球成一直線時的罕見現象。日環食發生在月亮位於繞地球軌道很遠之處。

The moon completely block out the sun, causing light to appear around the edges of the moon. The name annular is derived from the Latin word of ring and the effects it creates has been referred to by astronomers as a “ring of fire”.

當月亮完全遮蔽太陽，使得光線從月亮邊緣透出來，而「環」這個名字就是由拉丁字”ring”而來的，也因這個「環」看來閃閃發光，因之天文學家稱其為「火之環」。

It takes several minutes for the moon to pass in front of the sun, but the total eclipse lasts less than a second.

月亮通過太陽要花好幾分鐘，但完整的日環食卻持續不到1 秒。這不到1秒鐘的瞬間，創造了不少商機。

在台灣要再看這一瞬間是195年後了……

那時候，香港、台灣土地上的人們，都不是現在的我們了。此刻，我們是不是應該覺醒於自然的恆常，頓悟人類的渺小，而乖乖地遵循自然的定律。
