Days in Phoenix

  The first 12-person team, led by General Jou Yuan-yuan, flew to Phoenix to join the International Turbine Engine Company, ITEC, which was organized by ROC and US engineers performing the TFE1042 turbofan engine development program at Garrett Turbine Engine Company in Phoenix, Arizona, US.

  The second team flew to Phoenix successively.

  For the second time, I went to Phoenix for the low pressure turbine backup design addressing blade flutter phenomena till 74.02.09.

73.10.1 – The main result of the study on the flutter problem was reported as:

74.11.07 Started the LPT rig test in Taiwan –
After coming back to Taiwan, I worked on the low pressure turbine rig test, which started on 74.11.07 at EDTF ASRD in Taiwan, with Garrett engineer Dan Hinch coming from Phoenix. Some problems were encountered while conducting LPT rig test. At that time, the ITEC manager Al Finkelstein once visited Taiwan to review the TFE1042 program and LPT rig test progress. I was honored to give a briefing to Al introducing the LPT rig test status on 75.11.11, when I was 30.-
