國家中山科學研究院航空研究所成立80週年系列 – 首部曲
ASRD 80th Anniversary Celebrations

今年，民國108年，國家中山科學研究院航空研究所成立80週年。一系列的活動，陸續展開。本篇在月玲小姐特殊的筆鋒下，除了展示我航空傲人的研發成果外，賦予航空研究所高科技殿堂的人文風貌，呈現令人感動的航空史詩。

In celebration of ASRD’s 80th anniversary, proceedings of events and festival are taking place in Taichung. This article was originally written in Chinese by Miss Chiang in a genre quite different from what one might have had in mind about writing on technology. It emphasizes a history of the humanities presenting a splendid time for aeronautical systems research of our country.

《航空史詩》-　A Splendid Time for Aeronautical Systems Research

清新的空氣，清脆的鳥叫聲，清晨的曙光，劃破天際。懷著同樣夢想的工程師，展開築夢踏實的一天。

In the fresh air, a bird sings, the glow of dawn lights the morning sky, and a day begins. Pursuing the same ideal and dreams, engineers start a day at the moment the sun is over the horizon.

飛魚，天生具備的流線造型，能將阻力減到最低。他們自由的在空中，在水裡，快速移動。

一架完美的戰機，就從外形開始。戰機的外形，牽動著它的飛行速度，決定它的靈活度。有著精準氣動力外形的戰機，在天空中翱翔、翻飛，疾如箭矢。透過座艙向外看，一朵朵的雲在眼前閃過，乘著風的翅膀，預見未來的飛機。

Having streamlined bodies, flying fish swim in a way of least resistance. They move swiftly and freely in the water, in the air.

As the body of flying fish, the fuselage configuration of a plane is first designed that affects its speed and maneuverability. With delicate aerodynamic configuration design, a plane would fly speedily “like an arrow”. When looking out of the cabin window, clouds flash along the wings of plane – flying in the wind, we are imagining what future planes will look like.

飛機引擎好比一個人的心臟，他賦予了飛機的生命。航空所，走過七十多個年頭，發動機自製的決心 從未忘記。

不分晝夜，我們自主研發，投入尖端技術與創新。承載著御風的夢想，航空所，不斷的累積專業技術，從渦輪扇到轉子，從千斤到萬磅。當戰機衝上雲霄的那一刻，航空所讓人們看到了，創造成功之美。

Engine is to the plane what heart is to the human. Engine plays leading roles in determining the lifespan of an aircraft. For over 70 years, ASRD has had a period of splendid time. The determination of independently developing an aircraft engine lasts.

We have devoted ourselves to high technology and innovation, day and night, for the national development. Dreaming of conquering the sky, ASRD has been establishing technology capabilities of aircraft engines, turbofan and rotary, from hundred pounds to ten thousand pounds of thrust. When the fighter aircraft flies up to the sky, people see the beauty of invention that ASRD created.

戰機除了要有流線的外形，還必須有精密的機體結構，才有優異的操縱性及纏鬥力。航空所投入尖端技術，為了品質，持續進行無數次的測試與驗證。

Along with streamlined configuration, fighters need sophisticated, structural design to achieve superior maneuverability. To acquire quality assurance standards, ASRD is progressively conducting testing and verification.

讓飛行員在空戰中所向披靡的，除了機動性之外，還要能夠匿蹤，躲過敵人的雷達，就像穿上隱形斗篷。

Fighters with stealth capabilities would prevail for fighter pilots in air combat other than their maneuverability. Stealth fighters will hide from enemy radar just like wearing an Invisibility Cloak.

飛行是靠電腦控制的，它可以協助飛行員，隨心所欲的操控飛機。飛機的腦子靈活，飛行員就能操控自如，從水平到垂直，從地表到雲層。完美的控制系統，正運轉著熱情的動力，讓空間與時間的轉換，有了新的函數關係。

Flight is controlled by computer systems which help pilots maneuver planes as they intend. The more functional the control system is, the more flexible for pilots to maneuver planes varying from vertical to horizontal altitude, from near the ground to deep clouds. The perfect control system plays the role of the passionate power to do the transformation of time and space with new function.

傳承翱翔天空的夢想。航空所的無人機，正張開翅膀 遨遊天際，就像世界上最了不起的飛行者。大型無人機，像展開了雙翅的鷹，隨著天地的意志 緩緩起飛及停歇，彷彿飛翔的精靈。而那一片藍天，包容了它的不羈，展現了它的優雅。

小而美的紅雀，像小時候玩的紙飛機一般，徒手擲出，輕易的起飛了。這種小型無人機，可以傘降的方式回收，再艱難的地理環境也可以安全的降落。

The dream of flight continues. ASRD’s unmanned aerial vehicles are flying over the sky as if they are the most extraordinary ones in the world. Like an eagle extending its wings, the large payload UAV, MALE, is lightly taking off and landing. The MALE being like a flying spirit, the borderless blue sky forgives its unconstrained manner which is elegant as well.

The cardinal is small and beautiful, like a paper plane kids play with, taking off easily by hand launching, and landing with parachute safely even in harsh environments.

銳鳶，長長的雙翼，有如信天翁，操縱著與生俱來的滑翔本能，朝著目標前進。穿過戰火，借助風力，在海面巡弋，直上雲霄，閃躲突如其來威脅，排除萬難，誓必將訊息傳達。

航空所的無人機，不畏風雨，在高空，用那銳利的鷹眼，掃視著整齊的農田、海上的牧場、多變的氣象以及偏遠的大地。航空所，總是為了守護我們的家園，而默默的努力。

Extending the wings, the albatross UAV uses the instinct it was born with to glide to its destination. Flying through the fire, cruising above the sea, high up into the sky, no matter what threat or how difficult it is, the albatross UAV finally transmits the information.

Despite wind and rain, flying up high in the sky, the UAV, with eagle eyes, sweeps fields, pasture of the sea, variable weather, and remote lands. Taking care of homeland, ASRD is silently making efforts for hope.

有很長的時間，人們觀察鳥類，夢想能像他們一樣，體驗飛行。於是試著在地面上模擬這一切。

飛行模擬機，像編導一齣戲劇。駕駛艙裡，有操縱桿和無數的儀表，隨著主角的意志，在千變萬化的宇宙中上演一幕幕逼真的劇情。

Having observed birds, humans dream to fly to experience the joy of flight. Consequently, engineers attempt to simulate the manners as if they are in a plane in the sky.

Flight simulators are directors of films. In the pilot cabin, there are maneuvering rods and numerous instrument meters. The leading actor of the film performs the scenarios vividly in the changeable universe.

依著黑與白，虛與實，來互通心靈，於是在現實與幻想中，掀起漫天的戰雲。在模擬時空裡每個畫面，都是我們心血的結晶，它曾是我們打造巨塔的一磚一瓦。

The minds communicate with each other between black and white, virtual and real world, as a result, the fire rises between reality and fantasy. In the space-time simulation, every picture is an article of painstaking efforts, with which, the prominent results were created from scratch.

我們的技術不斷地演進，設計不斷地創新，航空所創造著無限的可能。航空所打造的每一套模擬器，都模擬著真實的世界。在虛擬世界中，追求的就是刺激，就是天馬行空，就是脫離現實。為了吸引人們的目光，我們的創新，必須預知人們想要的元素。

Making progress through continuous innovation, ASRD is creating infinite possibilities. ASRD has accomplished building simulators, all which simulate the real world. What we pursue in the virtual space is the fantasy and inspiration which escape from reality. In order to attract the attention of people, we should realize in advance what elements of innovation people need.

航空所，時時刻刻堅持著品質，在創新的道路上，走著沉穩又踏實的每一步。翱翔天空的夢想是我們續航的動力。日以繼夜的研發，航空所將精益求精 再創高峰。

我們曾舉步為艱，也曾含辛耕耘。如今，我們已飛奔在大道上，沖上雲霄與日月爭輝，永遠不悔。

ASRD constantly insists on the expected quality. Heading toward the way of innovation, ASRD is steadily stepping forward. The dream of flight motivates ASRD to navigate the aerospace. Making continuous progress on R&D, ASRD is reaching another summit.

Having experienced real hardship, ASRD is flying up to the clouds, rivaling the glory of the sun, and being on the way of no return.
